An art show organized by Hu Gang Ming Jia elaborating on Chinese painting was launched 9 AM on October 10th at the future culture cradle in Shanghai, the Thames Town, with the collection of a art course on the classic works of the master of Chinese traditional painting, Fu Wenyan, the solo show of the late great master of Chinese painting, Wang Geyi and the exhibition of contemporary Chinese women artists of oil paintings. Fu Wenyan, apprenticed to Zhang Daqian, the legendary elite in Chinese painting history, attended the exhibition together with other pioneering female artists, namely Tang Tianyi, Pan Wenyan, Xu Ning, Jiang Yun, Zhou Yichen, Yang Yanyi and Wang Chen. After overwhelmed by the artists¡¯ sophisticated techniques and invaluable artworks, the attendants paid a visit to ThamesTown, a British themed area boasting authentic European architectures. |

2006 China Motor Boat Race took place at the HuaTingLake in ThamesTown on September 24th. Over thirty Chinese motor boat racers participated in the contest which is organized by Songjiang district government, Shanghai Sports Bureau.

On May 20th 2006, a charity gala jointly organized by Shanghai Charity Foundation in Songjiang and Songjiang New City Construction Development Co., Ltd. At the gala evening, Shanghai Songjiang New City Construction Development Co.,Ltd donated RMB 2 million and Henghe Real Estate Co., Ltd contributed RMB 1 million to the foundation.
